Kelvion’s New Plate Heat Exchanger Model, NX350M

Our New NX350M Plate Heat Exchanger Model

Outstanding performance and excellent heat transfer, even at low temperature differences. With the new NX350M model, Kelvion has developed the right plate for power plants, iron and steel production, district heating and cooling networks, and data-centre cooling.

With 350 mm connection ports and dimensions of approximately 1 metre wide by 3 metres high, the NX350M can be used to build units delivering thermal output in the double-digit megawatt range.

Thin, pressure-resistant plates with a corrugation depth of only 2.4 mm and highly turbulent fluid flow provide the most efficient heat transfer.

The Optiwave design enhances this effect by providing exceptionally uniform flow across the full width of the plate. NX350M plates are manufactured in stainless steel and titanium, with a choice of corrugation angles to suit the operating conditions.

Other features of the new plate include the EcoLoc system, used across all NT Series models to ensure a precise fit for clip-on gaskets, and the PosLoc design, which automatically aligns the plates during assembly.

With the new NX350M, the NX plate series now comprises six sizes with connection diameters ranging from DN 25 to DN 350.

The heat-transfer performance of the new NX350M plate was tested in a unit five metres long and weighing approximately 20 tonnes.

Under all operating conditions, output in the double-digit megawatt range was achieved in line with customer requirements. Because the test-unit results have been incorporated into Kelvion heat-exchanger sizing specifications, they benefit all Kelvion customers as well as commissioning companies. …
